Hunger Resources

Addressing hunger is an important part of what we do as a faith community!

Your Southwestern Minnesota Synod Hunger Team continues to work toward building connections and support around hunger and justice. We would like to help you access funds, increase awareness about hunger related topics, locate resources, learn from other congregations engaged in hunger related work and more.

Please tell us what you are doing and what you would like to be doing to combat hunger and stand up for justice by completing the survey or emailing Pr. Troy Pflibsen at [email protected].

Synod Hunger Team: Pr. Cathy Jones, Pr. Jeanette McCormick, Pr. John Gabrielson, Pr. Christian Muellerleile, and Pr. Troy Pflibsen.

Resources

There is an abundance of World Hunger resources available. Here are a few to share:

“Know Your Neighborhood” with this guide to understanding what’s happening near you.

“Act 2Day 4Tomorrow” is a program that brings youth together to learn about the role they can play in eradicating hunger and poverty in the world.

For print resources regarding hunger please see the ELCA World Hunger webpage, which has a wide variety of resources, from VBS curricula to the Good Gifts catalogue. This summer we will also be posting some additional worship resources, such as a liturgy and sermon for a hunger-focused Sunday in your congregation.
