What is Mission Support?
Mission Support is the portion of your weekly financial offering that your congregation shares with your synod and the churchwide organization, the other two expressions of this church. As members of the ELCA, we do mission together through our financial giving. We do God’s work in ways that no individual, congregation, or synod can do alone.
Your Mission Support dollars empower ministries here in the U.S. and around the globe. SW MN Synod continues to share 51.5% of the Mission Support gifts we receive through ELCA ministries here and abroad – the equivalent of 42.31% of our total budgeted expenses.
Mission Support Plan for 2024
As you consider your congregation’s Mission Support for 2024, will you prayerfully consider growing that Mission Support for the coming year? We are called to join in God’s work in the world using all the gifts God has entrusted to our care. We encourage your church to increase your percentage or level of Mission Support as you make your financial decisions for next year. Whatever amount you share, we are one in the Great Commission.
