The Capital Appeal is underway!
We are committed to remaining “rooted in Redwood” – centrally located, where our ground touches every part of the open country, cities, and smalls towns of this synod. This place reflects our ties to creation, a deep legacy of faith, and a commitment to bring healing and hope to all.
We have stepped into the future by making the wise stewardship decision of better utilizing our facility by welcoming a tenant.
Thank you to all those who have generosity shared gifts already!
- The Mission Endowment Fund of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, Montevideo, gave the first gift of $5,570.00. This gift was shared as part of their Mission Outreach to benefit ministries outside the local community. Pr. Don McKee wrote, “We are honored to partner with the SWMN Synod as they embark on this strategic work to use the Synod Office Building in ways that further the life and mission of our work together.”
- SAM Ralph Flitter of Faith Lutheran Church, Madelia serves on the Synod Council and knows the impact of synod ministries. Faith Lutheran presented a gift of $1,000 for the Appeal when the bishop went there to celebrate the congregation’s 155th Anniversary in November.
- Some have found that designating a portion of an estate gift for the Appeal provides the kind of commitment they desire for their legacy.
- The Minnesota Valley Conference Assembly recently voted to share $1,000.00 as a Conference gift towards the Appeal.
There are many ways to share - and we say “thank you” for all of them.
We hope that the renovation can begin in a few weeks and then we anticipate that the project will take about 3.5 months to bring it to completion. Staff working on-site are set up with tables amid the synod’s stored items in the space that used to be the ‘Resource Center.’ The north room will soon become the construction zone.
We give thanks for this building which has been home for synod ministries for the past 37 years. This space stands as a living witness to God’s abundant grace and enduring call to serve. Join us in this appeal to strengthen and sustain these ministries so that – like the life-giving river flowing through the valley – our shared ministry may continue to move faithfully into the future.
