Safety and Security for Churches

No matter where congregations are located, no matter the size, congregation leaders are aware that we need to plan for the safety and security of the people who come through our doors, staff and worshipers. Retired Kenyon Police Chief Lee Sjolander provides training to help you make plans to develop your own safety & security practices.

Zoom Gathering Recordings:

During his time as police chief in Kenyon MN, Chief Lee served in law enforcement, but also was deeply known and respected for his role as mentor, dog whisperer, community leader, an active lay leader in his home ELCA congregation, and a drummer in a local band. Chief Lee brings a deep care for the safety and wellbeing of church leaders and congregations after serving in a small town/rural community and working in partnership with the congregations and religious leaders of that community.  He has helped rostered and lay leaders think about safety for our people while we engage in vibrant ministry in ways that are rooted in daily realities and lived experiences.
