DESCRIPTION:All 9th-12th students are invited to the Synod’s annual Senior High Youth Gathering. It will be held April 4-5\, 2025 at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Redwood Falls. Lodging will be at Redwood Lodge. DESCRIPTION:For Professionals & Volunteers working with Children\, Youth & Family Ministry\nThis 90-minute Zoom workshop\, led by Rev. Emily Carson\, Assistant to the Bishop & Director for Evangelical Mission in the Southeastern Minnesota Synod\, is designed for volunteers and professionals engaged in faith formation and ministry with children\, youth\, and families. \nParticipants will explore their own relationship to power\, boundaries\, and authority\, gaining insights into how these dynamics shape their leadership. Beyond personal reflection\, the workshop will also equip leaders to actively foster wise boundary-setting skills in the young people they serve. Through discussion and practical strategies\, attendees will be empowered to nurture healthy\, trust-filled ministry spaces. \nDate: Tuesday\, May 6th\nTime: 6:00-7:30pm\nWhere: Zoom (link will be sent to you)\nCost: $10 donation for Global Refuge (formally LIRS)\nThis is a ELCA Region 3 event.\nParticipants will register through the NEMN Synod to receive the Zoom link. We ask for a $10 donation\, which we will give to Global Refuge\, given their increased need and recognizing that much of their work impacts refugee children\, youth\, and families. Troy –   \nGenerosity is central to who we are as followers of Jesus. Like many aspects of our Christian walk\, we need help and support to live into this truth. “Building a Culture of Generosity\,” a program of GSB\, is a great option as we develop our generosity both as congregations and individuals. There is teaching. There is consulting. There are all the materials needed for your fall generosity/stewardship program. Yes\, it asks for financial support for your congregation’s ministries. Typically\, the program will increase generosity by 5-10%. But it goes much deeper than this as it seeks to “build a culture of generosity.” This culture work will increase giving in ways not only financial.  \nIf your congregation would like to begin creating this culture of generosity\, the cost is only $600 for the program. A Thrivent Action Grant can be used to offset some of the cost. The Southwestern Minnesota Synod will also reimburse congregations an additional $250 upon completion of the program. With both scholarships in place the remaining cost is just $100. To sign-up\, register through GSB as instructed on the flyer. Also inform me\, Pastor Troy Pflibsen\, the synod’s Director for Evangelical Mission\, so that you can receive the reimbursement when the program is completed.
