Overview Webinar: Congregational Financial Assessment

The Congregational Financial Assessment identifies 21 healthy financial practices from five key areas: accounting, finance, human resources, risk management and stewardship. Each healthy financial practice includes resources intended to help carry out that practice, along with an invitation to assess whether your congregation’s current proficiency in the practice is excellent, in need of improvement or nonexistent.

Join us on Thursday, March 4th @ 7pm via Zoom for an overview webinar to fully explain the Congregational Financial Assessment (CFA) tool lead by Steve Oelschlager, Resourceful Servants, ELCA. Because of the five areas covered by the CFA, consider inviting multiple staff and leaders from your congregation to attend this webinar.  A treasurer, pastor, financial secretary, council members, people who oversee handling offerings, stewardship and property committee members will find this information helpful.

This program is for congregational leaders interested in improving their congregation’s financial wellness and operational impact but unsure where to start.  The CFA provides both a starting point and a road map to improved financial stability.

This is a tool that can help deepen congregational oversight and administrative knowledge by focusing on and sharing best practices in various areas.  The assessment works as a self-assessment that gives you an overall score and allows your congregation to work toward improving that score by using the resources available.
