You’re invited to join a cohort of congregations working to build on nurturing families in faith.
For decades research from Vibrant Faith has shown us that “faith is passed on through personal, trusted relationships, often but not always, in one’s own home.” We’ve built beautiful Sunday School ministries and tried to connect church and home with often little success. We’re left with kids who love their Sunday School teachers and learn some Bible stories, but who often do not continue in faith because their parents and loved ones don’t feel equipped to nurture or practice faith at home.
This past year we were forced to do something different. We creatively provided families with opportunities to experience God’s love wherever they were. As we look towards Fall, we’re wondering,
- “Will families come back to the church building?”
- “What did we learn this year that we want to keep?”
- “How will we continue to partner home and congregation after the pandemic subsides?”
We have the opportunity to strengthen the faith@home and faith@church partnership that COVID has required.
The Family Ministry Cohort provides a toolkit of yearly resources, training, and weekly ministry assistance to help your congregation(s) do better ministry with families from tots through the teen years including a marriage ministry and a ministry with grandparents.
Please join us to explore:
Family AS Faith Community
Family WITHIN Faith Community
Family WITHOUT Faith Community
The SW MN Synod has covered the initial fee to begin this cohort. We ask that congregations contribute $100 to receive full access to a year of resources, training and weekly ministry assistance. The year will run from May 1, 2021 – May 1, 2022 with an opportunity to continue in future years. Congregations may join at any time, but will receive the most benefit from joining early.
Send payment to the SW MN Synod, PO Box 499, Redwood Falls, MN 56283-0499. Please include the Family Ministry Cohort in the memo line.
