This study is for staff, volunteers, committee members, etc. It will be a monthly study so these strategies can soak in and make a difference in your congregation.
We will meet the second Thursday of each month through May of 2021.

The assignment for Jan. 14th
“What’s Young about the Good News?” – Chapter 4
Whether or not you’ve been reading Growing Young, it’s not too late to jump into a discussion of this
The session is discussion-focused, and will center on the following questions inspired by our resource guide:
Does the gospel that shows up in our context one that is “moralistic, therapeutic, and deistic”, a “Golden Rule” gospel, or the Good news of Jesus? (See pp. 130-135 for more on these)
Churches growing young are shifting to:
Less talk about abstract beliefs and more talk about Jesus
Less tied to formulas and more focused on the story of God’s work around us
Less about heaven later and more about life here and now
Where are we??
Do we talk to young people more about should-nots, or invite them to put their faith into action?
Are we afraid of questions, doubts, and struggles with faith, or embrace these as real for all of us?
How can younger people, or any of our people, share their faith stories in ways that are accessible and authentic?
What new and old rituals are a part of your congregation’s life in this new time?
Join the conversation!
