Elderberry Retreat
October 14-15, 2010
Green Lake Lutheran Ministries
The Elderberry Retreat is an opportunity for retired Pastors and spouses, widows, and retired Associates in Ministry (AIM) and spouses from the Southwestern Minnesota Synod and neighboring synods to gather for inspiration, fun and fellowship at Green Lake Bible Camp. The dates this year are Thursday and Friday, October 14 and 15. Please mark your calendars and reserve these dates. Registration materials and more detailed information will be sent to you in early September.
Bill and Margie Nelsen will share about their experiences on the Synod-to -Synod Mission trip to South Africa with a slide picture presentation under the theme: “South Africa Partnership; Venture and Inspiration“. Duane Kamrath will share about his latest trip and experiences at the Guest Houses of Christmas Lutheran Church in Bethlehem and at Ibillin near the Sea of Galilee under the theme: “O Little Town of Bethlehem”. Duane returned home challenged by what he saw and also hopeful of the manner in which Arab Christians are struggling to bring justice and peace to all the peoples (Jews, Muslims, and Christians) who are neighbors in Palestine.
We will have worship with Communion. There will be representatives from the Synod and the Board of Pensions who will share information with us. Also there will be hymn sings, musical entertainment, good food, and time for fellowship.
