Bishop Jon Anderson

Pr. Jon Anderson was elected bishop of the Southwestern Minnesota Synod in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America in 2003 and again in 2009.

Bishop Jon was educated at St. Olaf College in Northfield, MN. He went on to study at Luther Northwestern Theological Seminary in St. Paul, MN. His faith was also formed serving several summers at Green Lake Lutheran Ministries and Lutheran Outdoors of the Southwest in Texas.

Bishop Anderson interned at Faith Lutheran Church in Dickinson, TX, and served parish calls at Kinsmen Lutheran in Houston, TX, Atonement Lutheran in St. Cloud, MN, and Christ the King in New Ulm, MN.

Bishop Jon resides in New Ulm, MN with his spouse, Robyn. They have three children- Laura, Sean and Caity. Jon enjoys growing things in his garden, reading, exploring technology and chasing a little blue ball around a racquetball court.
